Dewi Sant came to Boulder, CO on Sunday, January 31, 2010 to play a house venue (s00krEEm’s) with about 30 people in attendance. s00krEEm’s is no bigger than a hotel room. Dewi Sant is a band of five. Somehow, they fit themselves (guitarist, keyboardist, drummer, cellist, bassist) in a space no bigger then a Twister mat.
Dewi Sant was touring in support of their new album, May. When they got to BACK40 they had already been on tour for a month. They had been all over the West Coast, including Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, and Bozeman, MT. However, they didn’t seem one bit road weary. They were cheerful, accommodating and full of good spirits – without a doubt, some of the nicest musicians I’ve met.
Michael, the lead singer, told me this is one album of many. There’s a good chance they’ll soon be back in Boulder playing harder, louder, non-love songs. Fingers crossed we’ll be able to host them again.
